Jhanisse Vaca Daza is the Freedom Fellowship Manager at the Human Rights Foundation and Network Manager for the Oslo Freedom Forum. She is also co-founder of Ríos de Pie, a non-violent citizen movement focused on human rights and Bolivia’s environmental rights.
Jhanisse obtained her honors bachelor’s degree at Kent State University, where she studied International Relations thanks to scholarships. She subsequently completed the Nonviolent Movement Leadership for Social Progress online program at Harvard Kennedy School. Her background includes work in program AVISA, which protects children victims of sexual abuse in Santa Cruz, Bolivia; legal assistant in defense of undocumented immigrants in The Shagin Law Group LLC (USA); and consultation for different nonviolence NGOs in Bolivia.
